About Josef Neumeier
Josef is Associate Director at GDP Global, specialising in investment promotion and economic development. Josef is a German national working and residing in South Africa since 2004. He has 25 years in project management in local economic development (LED), investment and trade promotion, consulting, cooperative partnerships. From his professional work experience in Germany, South Africa and overseas, Josef has gained extensive knowhow and experience in project management, investment and trade promotion, strategic planning and management, and local economic development in private industry and public sector organisations.
Career Highlights:
- In South Africa, Josef served over six years in the Eastern Cape Development Corporation as advisor and manager in the investment and trade promotion unit.
- Thereafter he was contracted by the German International Services (GIZ) consulting the Afrikaanse Handelsinstituut (AHI) Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs.
- From 2014 until 2017 Josef was part of the Governance Support Programme of the GIZ, setting up cooperative partnerships between the public and private sector.
- Since 2017, Josef consults in local economic development, investment and trade promotion and also business development for overseas companies.
Education: Fachhochschule München (University for Applied Research and Development, Munich); Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur Honours degree in Engineering and Management. CDI GmbH, Deutsche private Akademie für Wirtschaft, München (German Academy for Economics); Project Specialist SAP/R3 – Accounting.
